Thanks for choosing Experimax Coon Rapids (“we”/”us”/”our”) for your Apple repair needs! The following terms and conditions apply to all hardware repairs and services, and all software services we perform. We reserve the right to modify any of these terms at any time, and will notify you in advance of any such changes that would affect your repair or service.
Diagnostic Fee: All repairs are subject to a $25 diagnostic fee. This fee is non-refundable, but is credited towards the final charge for any repairs or services we accomplish upon payment of the Experimax invoice.
Data Loss and Backups: By leaving your device with us, you understand that Experimax Coon Rapids will make all reasonable efforts to keep the data on your device private and safe. However, you are solely responsible for ensuring any data that is important to you is backed up to a separate device you control (for example, an external hard drive), prior to bringing your device to us. You agree to release Experimax Coon Rapids from any claim for loss or damages of any kind related to our access to, lawful use of, or loss of any data or personal information stored on the device. Additionally, Experimax Coon Rapids does not make any claims or guarantees that any or all of the data on your device will be accessible regardless of the repair service offered to you. This includes data recovery and data transfer services, which you recognize are not always technically possible to complete successfully.
Abandonment Policy: We are unable to store devices indefinitely. By leaving your device with us for a repair or other in-store service, you release Experimax Coon Rapids from any claim relating to your device and any data or other information stored on your device, if your device is not paid for and picked up within 30 days of being notified that your repair or other service has been completed. Items left with us longer than this 30 day period following a repair or service completion will be considered abandoned with us, and become the sole property of Experimax Coon Rapids to be used, recycled, or sold at our sole discretion. Any personal data stored on your device will not be sold or knowingly transferred in any way, however you release Experimax Coon Rapids from any claim for loss or damages of any kind relating to an abandoned device or information stored on such an abandoned device.
Warranty: Any repair services provided that involve the installation or replacement of hardware are covered under our limited 90-day repair warranty. This limited warranty covers the repaired or replaced parts only. Experimax Coon Rapids does not warranty a device if we determine that a device was damaged either accidentally or intentionally by you or another repair shop, or if we determine that a device has “known issues” (these include but are not limited to manufacturing defects such as the ones covered by an Apple Service Program), logic board damage, or liquid damage.
Warranty (Laptop Logic Board Repairs or Replacements): Experimax Coon Rapids occasionally sends laptop logic boards to a trusted third-party partner (Logic-Boards.com) for “micro-soldering” repair. We also purchase replacement logic boards from this partner when a replacement is more cost-effective or the repair needs to be completed in an expedited fashion. Repairs completed by our board repair partner, and board replacements via this board repair partner that were ordered specifically for your device are additionally covered by a 6-month warranty provided by Logic-Boards.com at their discretion and processed through us. This warranty covers — at the sole determination of Logic-Boards.com — any functional failure(s) of the logic board that occur during normal usage of the device. It does NOT cover failures caused by liquid damage caused after you receive the repaired device, failures caused by abuse or misuse (such as dropping or crushing the device) after you receive the repaired device, failures caused by connecting liquid-damaged components after you receive the repaired device, or failures caused by third-party batteries or chargers used or installed after receiving the repaired device. This warranty runs concurrently with our standard 90-day warranty (i.e. it does not stack to provide you a total of 90 days + 6 months of warranty coverage).
Risky Repair Information: Some repairs or services may be considered “Risky Repairs” at Experimax Coon Rapids’s sole discretion. If your repair is considered a risky repair, you will be informed of these terms prior to any repair beginning. Risky repairs cover any repair where the success rate of the service provided is low due to technical limitations in our repair process. This includes — but is not limited to — repairs where Touch ID or Face ID modules or sensors appear likely to be physically or liquid damaged, or certain iPad repairs involving fragile parts not designed to be normally repaired. By being informed of this risky repair status, you understand that you have been advised that the success rate of this repair or some aspect of this repair are low, and you agree to release Experimax Coon Rapids from any claim for loss or damages of any kind related to the loss of this/these function(s). Experimax Coon Rapids may at our sole discretion require a $50 diagnostic fee in lieu of the standard diagnostic fee, to which all other standard diagnostic fee terms apply. If this is applicable to your repair, you will be informed at or prior to the time of drop-off.
Legacy Device Information: Repairs on any units 9 years old or older may — at our sole discretion — require a $50 non-refundable diagnostic fee in lieu of the standard diagnostic fee, to which all other standard diagnostic fee terms apply. If this is applicable to your repair, you will be informed at or prior to the time of drop-off. We may also require advance payment for any parts for your device (either partial or full at our sole discretion) that need to be special-ordered (i.e. are not immediately in stock at our location). These payments may not be refundable, even if the repair is not ultimately successful or if the repair is cancelled.
Cleaning Fee: Experimax Coon Rapids may choose to apply a $50 cleaning fee in certain situations, such as if your device was in a smoking environment. If this is applicable to your repair, you will be informed at or prior to the time of drop-off.
